Who is God?  The way of God

Title: If God is Dead!
Post by: Kerminator

I have always been a free thinker, using my God given intelligence to seek and make determinations as to what is the truth!

If God is Dead; then first why do they who say so keep talking about HIM?  If they have come to that conclusion; then just why do they carry on in books and blogs about a supposedly non existent person or thing?

It has always astounded me, how so many people with certain ideas become obsessed with proving something they believe is non existent;  is not there!  Really, HUH!! I have never had that problem, personally!

Well just for starters,  while modern science has much proof on the solar system and have observed how it functions; they do not have any idea why the earth continues to turns and the planets spin around the Sun!  They are clueless as to how most of the systems in the known world continue to operate…

Odd, they can say there is no God, yet HIS presence is everywhere…  Have you stopped to look lately?

Carbon Storage

Carbon Storage? by kerminator …..

CCS or Carbon Capture Storage; or sequestration has become a great hope for many people… Even some oil companies and governments have jumped on board!

Date: 1/29/2010 19:04:07 GMT

In some way this CCS has became an indulgence certificate; for those with a position on anthropogenic  global warming…   The solution fit even the oil companies; since some petroleum engineers jumped in with the idea of re-injecting the offending carbon dioxide into both both old oil reservoirs and some deep saline aquifers…

Yet many engineers who ought to know better had they done the basic calculations jumped on board!  With plenty of both government and private money; many researchers instead of studying the very feasibility of the process, which had been taken for granted in some circles…

With the present political economic atmosphere; most agree that the task was overwhelming both in physical needs and costs; plus the desire to save the planet; some people often jump at any possible solution…

Reality is so often more difficult than many political dreams…  What was rarely calculated yet often discussed is the rate of injection per well and the cumulative volume of injection in a particular geological formation; which are part of the overall process!

In the Society of Petroleum Engineers  New Orleans Meeting , Oct 2009; addressed the feasibility of sequestering CO2 as a means of emissions management…  The conclusion was negative! The end result was that it would take 10 to 20 times the underground reservoir volume than envisioned by most; which renders geological sequestration of CO2 a profoundly non-feasible option for the management of CO2 emissions…

The Kyoto Protocol or any successor accords would imply orders of magnitude far larger than anything possible with CCS!  Without going into the boring details; it is sufficient to say that with CCS; there is not a practical means to provide any substantive reduction in CO2 emissions, as some believe!

Who do you pray for?

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Read to following email from a Pastor; who brings up one of the most important items in the prayer life of a believer; who and how do we pray? In the life of every man there is always the will of God!

Gentlemen,

The following story was sent to me as part of the devotions that I get from Moody Bible Institute. Read the commentary and then my comments.

In the annals of Israel’s kings, Ahab set the standard for wickedness. He is known almost entirely for worshiping foreign gods, oppressing his people, and persecuting the prophets of God (especially Elijah). If Jeroboam had initially appeared to be the very worst king imaginable, Ahab crossed new frontiers of evil. The worship practices instituted by his predecessor were tame compared to the depths to which Ahab stooped. He adopted the Baal worship and Asherah poles that Gideon had torn down so long before because, like Solomon had done, he married the daughter of a foreign king.

Baal worship dominated Ahab’s rule, as evidenced by the showdown between Elijah and the prophets of Baal (see 1 Kings 18). He built a temple and altar to this false god and essentially turned Israel into a pagan nation. Were it not for the prophets who spoke the truth about God, Ahab would have eliminated true worship if he had gotten his way. The major consequence of his actions was simple: the Lord was very angry.

But as awful a king as Ahab was and as many wicked things he did toward God and against the people he ruled, even Ahab became the recipient of God’s grace. Near the end of his rule, Ahab was confronted a final time by Elijah with a stern rebuke of condemnation. When Ahab heard it, he mourned and fasted and humbled himself before God (1 Kings 21:29). Despite the fact that in 22 years of ruling Israel he had unceasingly provoked God to anger, Ahab garnered God’s compassion because of one moment of humility. He still paid for his crimes, but even Israel’s wickedest king was a candidate for mercy.

God told Elijah the following in 1 Kings 21:29: “Do you see how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring (on him) the evil in his days…”

In other words, God was merciful to Ahab, the most evil king that Israel had ever had, just because Ahab repented.

Now I know that some of our current political leaders have been compared to some of the most evil leaders of the 20th century. (If you watch Fox News you know what I mean.) And I know that we have little good to say about where these political leaders are taking our country. But, knowing that God’s grace is more abundant than we can possible imagine, it seems to me that we might pray for these leaders to have their eyes opened to who God is and what God wants (Heb. 11:6).

Some of these leaders have been compared to Hitler, Che Guevara, Mao and Stalin, to name just a few. But I know that I need to remember that the kingdom that I’m a citizen of is not of this world. And for a change to be made in the heart, a change sometimes needs to be made first in the heavenlies through the prayers of the saints.

This is all to say that instead of praying for God to curse a person and the work of their hands, we should pray for their redemption. I am coming to believe more and more that when we degrade a person, we pronounce a curse on them. Please help me to remember that I don’t know what’s in a person’s heart. I thank God that He hasn’t treated me as I deserve and that He has been merciful toward me. And if you will allow me, I’ll remind you of the same.

God bless,

Jerald

Not? by kerminator …..

No matter what anyone alive can do; there are certain transformations of your life that are beyond your control…

Date:   1/2/2010 09:07:26 GMT

“  No matter what you do in life;  there will always be some worldwide circumstances that are  beyond your control!  “       a True-ism

BTW: You are in this life to learn how to control your life eternal destiny!

Most people pass through their earthly life; not even getting close to their true eternal purpose…

Are you one of those unfortunate and misdirected people?

If you have a shred of concern about your Eternal Future, you will pursue an answer!

It all comes down to a time of decision on your part!

Everything, yes, Everything in this present life like it or not will end as we know it!

So where do you go from here?  This is your mission and you will go some where, maybe not where you think or would like to end up…  HUH!  This is your decision alone!

Stop and analyze all your options; make a list of the what you think are available to you!  The list can be as long as you want…  Then review it in more detail later (don’t wait too long) to see which items can be eliminated as not really appropriate or necessary for your eternal future…  Here is where you should come to a realist view of your future existence…  Prayer may be the key to unlocking your inter will or spiritual desires…

The answer will come down to two choices, either you will change and accept the will of God for your life or not!  The not is where most people spend their time on this earth…  The Not is what the world lays out before you to accept as wonderful and grand!  If you look long enough with a serious manner you will see the limits of the present world order!

What is in your heart?   How do you react to those placed on your pathway of life?

Do you seek to bless them, by helping or doing what you can to lighten their load?  Or Not?

Christ is an all or nothing proposition, and one way or the other; everyone of us has already made a choice about Him! Either we have committed our life to follow and accept Him wholeheartedly or we have Not!

What to do!

Because of having been there! by kerminator …..

What should you do to improve the world around you?

Date: 1/1/2010 11:36:07 GMT

There is a motto which I have always attempted to follow:

” I will try to make this (Where ever you happen to be) a better place for my having been here!”

This should be one of the things you try to follow in the New Year!

Learn to seek ways to help those whom God has placed on your pathway of life!

It would be a vast improvement for most of the world to follow!!

Let’s give it a try, Folks!!

It is all about concern and an attitude of kindness…

WHy would you want anything else?  This would change the world if everyone did so!
