Core beliefs?

What you should have learned in Kindergarten or First Grade!

Oh where is your proper moral compass?

Date: 3/31/2009 06:44:28

Sometimes you may want to go back to a simpler time!! Like when you started school…
There are some things that we should learn early on in life! Most of these are the things that form your life’s core values… Core values are the basic values you use and depend on to guide your life! HUH!

“It has been said that we learn more proportionally the first few years of our life than in all the rest!”
a True-ism

Most people should have learned the basics of their life by the time they were in Kindergarten… Of course it required that you had someone in your past; who was concerned enough to mentor and nurture you!

I was very fortunate to have people who really loved and supported me in my younger years… All of this was a result of the love shared in my family… I had loving Grandmothers and a supportive Mother! This was the base of my core beliefs… ” Thank you Big Mama!”

I came to know the reason and purpose of what is right or wrong in life… This kind of training led the formation of a platform or base which allowed me to steer clear of many of the pitfalls that occur in life… Later when confronted by the temptations or pressured to fall into some evil or unworthy actives; it was no contest, I just did not cave in, because of my early up bringing… {This does not mean that I did not sin or fall short!}

This is the result of being properly brought up, which is more than I can say for many people you meet today… Congratulations to the readers of this blog; as usually the uncouth and selfish people in the world today do not ever read my entries… (Sad but true)

This just goes to show why there are so many unprincipled, undisciplined and selfish people, in the world today… Not because they do not read my blogs, rather they did not get the basic training in their younger years in order to form a proper core belief standard! As you can see it all goes back to having the correct core beliefs to make the important decisions in life!

“Without a moral compass you are much like a leaf blowing in the wind of time, always on the move but never getting to any desired destination!” a True-ism

Sorry I missed out on kindergarten; but did get First Grade @ St Paul’s with Sister Rosa Letia. Maybe some of you may remember the Dick and Jane books with Spot the dog… They started out “Look”… As in; ” Look see Spot run, run Spot run…” Maybe there is something there we should revisit in our thinking today… Like look!

The rest was to always put your things away, clean up after yourself, no pushing, wait your turn and no talking with out raising your hand to be recognized!

Just a few things we could use to help make the world a better place, HUH!

Burn the Ships..

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

This is from an Email by one of my sons:

Subject: “Burn the ships”
Date: Thu, 26 Mar 2009 00:58:52

This is something that I want to share.

Please read and ponder!

Last Thursday while driving home I kept hearing a song in my head. It was a song I knew and had heard at church before. I began singing this song and started to visualize what the song was saying in my head. The words were, “His love is like a river, full of grace, and it flows from Emanuel’s veins.” The best way to describe what I pictured is like this:

Imagine the Cross of Jesus in the distance and a huge river in front of where you are standing. This river starts at the Cross, but where does it lead? It leads into the heart of God that is too far away to see. For now all you see is a large flowing river. This is not just any old river, it is a Divine River that can only come from God. Now you hear the words, “I Am The Way, The Truth and, The Life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” You start to understand that this River is The Way to the Father and the source of Truth and Life. This is it! This is what you have been searching for, a place of true peace, joy and love; a place where all of your burdens and all of the stress of this world fade away.

Knowing this, you decide to take a plunge into the River. For the first time in your life you start to understand what love really is, and you know a peace and joy that you have never known before. You think to yourself, “Why has it taken me so long to find this River…I never want to go back to where I was before.” Then you look back to the River’s shore line, start to worry then think about all of the burdens your life is full of so you decide to go back to the dry land.

Now you are taking a “breather.” You just need to map out the rest of your life, yet that dip in the River sure did help to put things in a new light. You have known that you should change some things about your life and that should you start looking for ways to be a better person. This is when you start feeling the stress and the weight of the world coming down on you again. So, you decide to look back to the River because you know it can help you overcome these burdens.

This time at the River, you see a sign that says “Warning: Burn the Ships and take the River…Hold nothing back and let go of everything.” You start to wonder what this means. This is when you notice something you did not see before, boats and ships of all sizes going up and down the River. The people in these ships where very busy and most of them seemed very hard hearted and uptight. They did not even see you standing at the edge of the River. They were too involved in what they were doing to pay attention to anyone else. (The self centerness of life) Now you start to wonder why these people were in ships or if they even knew what this River really is?

You start getting close enough to hear what the people in the ships are talking about and you are surprised at what you hear. You hear, “There had better be something good in store for me for taking this long trip. This trip had better be worth it, if this takes any longer I’m going back!” Everything that you heard sounded very selfish and wrong. “How come nobody is getting into the River,” you wondered. “How did all of this happen?” “Why did they not see the sign?” Then you look to the Cross and ask ”How can I help them to Burn the ships and take the River…Hold nothing back and let go of everything?” The last words you hear before you jump in is, “To follow me you must dive in and never look back.”

This is the word picture that God gave me. The ships represent Comfort, Pleasure , knowledge and earthly understanding. The River is the love of God which is the Lord Jesus Christ. The warning is for all of us who only enter into the River as long as we are comfortable with it. Jesus does not want us to only enter into him with our own understanding and knowledge. He wants us to put total trust in Him and let Him take us where He wants us. We all feel comfortable in our own ship where we can navigate the River and turn back or go to the dock when we feel uncomfortable. The ships represent all that holds us back. There is a point in the River beyond which the ships cannot go. The ships can only take you so far.

Too many people turn to books or the internet or the nightly news for their knowledge/comfort. The Eternal Knowledge of God comes from the depths of the River. Have you been in your safe ship for too long? Do you ever stop to think that if you would let go of everything you are holding on to in your life, He will provide? I know that I have been in my ship for far too long and I desire to let go and hold nothing back. What is stopping you from letting go? What is stopping you from burning your ship?

“What is stopping you from taking the River all the way to the heart of God?”

The choice is yours. The time is now. Our Time may be shorter than we think. Please join me in burning our ships so that we have nothing in our path to hinder us and keep us from taking in all that the River which is the Love of GOD; that HE has in store for us.

Lord and Master,

I ask that You will bless all who read this. Please show us what we must do to let go and follow You. We cannot do this in our own strength, knowledge, comfort or understanding. Put in our hearts what you would have us do for Your Kingdom and Your Ministry. Help us to be a light for others who do not know You. Thank you for everything You are. We give You all praise, honor and glory. We give thanks for what You are about to do in all of our lives. With faith, hope and love I pray, in the name of The Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

I just felt like this was a message for everyone. Please let me know if there is anything that I can pray with you or for you.

Rejection?

Why does rejection occur?

Date: 3/18/2009 7:25:58 PM ( 5 d ) … viewed 34 times

Understanding Rejection !

We are born into this worldly environment which chooses favorites based on certain particular qualities…

“Everyone knows some form of rejection in life… Rejection is based on the imperfection of mankind and the guilt of or pride for certain desired qualities!” a True-ism

It all starts in the eye or the ear of the rejector… They will tend to gravitate toward certain commonly misconceived qualities; as to what makes for a better person! Some is due to sheer ignorance, other is when predigest creeps in, as a form to ensure the position, of a perceived superior person(s)… Of course truth dictates that most all, if not every one of the scenarios are just a control technique… It has been used to instill the view that some people are just “Better” Than others else! Like Wealth, or Talent, or Physical / Mental abilities, or Class, or Race, or even some Social/ Religious standing!

If we could be perfectly honest, {which seems to be nearly impossible for most people}, we would learn to look upon the heart of another and not just the outward appearance… Then to not be selective and judgmental; here is where most people just give in to the worldly system… HUH! Sad but true!

The largest group of people {98%} in the world fall outside the so called group of ” Pretty, Perfect or Beautiful” people! The rest of us, the 98% tend to go through life believing that we are worthless, or unlovable, or unacceptable, or just don’t fit this mold!! Which is a complete lie; because if for some reason all the so called “Pretty” people just dropped off the face of the earth one day; everything would still go on, because the 98% have more than enough to continue life, Perfectly!

The worst fate is that many of the worlds, 98% never seem to understand there is really nothing wrong with them… It is a control comparison thing!! Here is where most people find themselves today, going about rejected and suffering day to day based on a false premise; that only the perfect are successful! Guess who made that up! Yep the 2% crowd!

BTW: It is not how cute you look, it is who you are inside that counts! Seek to be the best person possible, based on the GOD given talents and abilities you can use to help others find peace in their lives!!

That is why there are so many rebels in the world… They go around in a maze of ignorance questioning everything and not accepting the real worth of the individual! Therefore they continue the system of rejection and guilt… Because they have accepted the true belief of the system’s false judgment and control… Then if and when they do receive any success or acceptance; it is doubted or questioned out of existence! What a vicious cycle of grief we weave for ourselves!!

The worse of this thought is that during times of trouble or grief people even blame GOD, for their sad estate or circumstances!! Thus this attitude of rebellion and bad behavior tends to alienate others and push them to defend the very system that holds them captive and breeds more rejection… It is some what like having a festering sore, which you keep picking at and do not allow it to heal, it is always there with more pain!

“Remember most grief people bring upon themselves!” a True-ism

We need to learn that; Life is not a completion, rather it is meant to be a shared event… You can never win in a system where you (the the lower 98% or controlled ones) would dare to compare themselves, to those who measure themselves by their own Egos… (the upper 2 %)

The real hope and theme is to have everyone come to learn that they are loved for who they are… It should be based on a system where people help others to succeed, which then results in our succeeding as well. The more we build up others, Then more we really help ourselves!! Here is one of the secrets of the universe!!

The secret is to get beyond yourself and not become engulfed by the many systems in the world today… There are many detours that lead to dead ends! If only we could hear the testimonies of the millions of souls who die each day and pass on into Eternity; they could tell you of the many wasted days and idle pursuits they had engaged in!!

The final analysis is that no one wins in any of the world systems!!

No matter how you live your life there is always someone who will not agree or accept your views…
Therefore when you come under attack, find out what the reasons are and act accordingly!!

Defensiveness is defenseless; when you are criticized for doing something wrong and it is valid. a True-ism

Therefore any defensiveness on your part is at best just a rationalization yet at worse a lie or falsehood!!

This is where so many people come to situations of denial and rejection in their lives… Thus you must some to learn not to become defensive when your short coming are brought forth! Beware: Because once you let your emotions rule the situation, you have just about lost the battle for reason and generally will destroy any credibility you may have had!

While most of the systems of the world are very influential, you need not respond to these things that only embroil and cause more pain and suffering… Address the truth and seek to clarify the situation!

When personal confrontations occur respond by looking out for the other persons needs and character… While you are of course personally responsible for your own character, it does not do any good to try to defend the indefensible or attack another’s character!

The world and Satan will try to get you to focus on you rights instead of your responsibilities…

” Anytime a nation, a group or even individuals focus upon their so called rights, at the exclusion of their responsibilities, they are on the path of defeat! No culture can long withstand any type of self-centered orientation… ” Victory over Darkness 1990 by Dr. Neil Anderson

We are all only responsible for what we did… Don’t try to play the role of being someone’s conscience, that is for GOD! When you attempt to play the role of the Holy Spirit; or the Conscience in another’s life you misdirect the battle from GOD toward ourselves…

BTW: We are ill equipped to play GOD or direct other people lives by attempting to direct their conscience!! Just another Secret of the Universe folks!

You can hold people accountable for their actions but you should never denigrate their character! Try to attempt to express your desires without judging someone! When you express your wants or emotional needs with another, try to change any “you” accusations to an “I” message… This way your non judgmental approach allows the Holy Spirit to deal with their conscience! The other person is now free to respond to your need instead of becoming defensive against your attacks!! What a plan, now just put this into use in your next personal defensive encounter…

Remember most rejection is due to improper mind set or poor personal attitude, plus the personal desire to play God, which is an attempt to direct other people’s lives or at least to try to cover one’s own faults!! Where are you Friend?

This is Your Money
Volume XIV No. 11 – March 13, 2009

Transparency is the new buzz word in Washington. The most open and transparent government ever; transparent stimulus spending; making earmark spending requests transparent; the list goes on and on. Let’s be clear, the Obama Administration’s commitment to transparency is welcome and important.  That said, the administration needs to do everything it can to live up to its rhetoric. And simply throwing a lot of data and documents on the internet isn’t enough.

The stakes are high. One of the key factors in getting the economic stimulus passed was the accountability and oversight mechanisms. And one of the major oversight provisions is www.recovery.gov, a site where watchdogs and everyday citizens can track where their tax dollars are going. As the website points out: “This is your money. You have a right to know where it is going and how it is being spent.” To date, the site has fallen far short of its goal. Much more needs to be done to make it truly transparent.

Rather than a one-stop shopping department store for all stimulus information, recovery.gov is more like a shopping mall. You enter the site and click on a link to a listing of federal agencies involved, which then take you to the agency sites, the quality and format of which varies. If you can find them, links to grants on some of these sites may redirect you to yet another page. One thing that all the sites have in common is infomercial text about how great the stimulus is and opportunities to tell stimulus success stories.

After federal agency spending, another main conduit for stimulus funds is spending by state and local governments.   You are also supposed to be able to track this from recovery.gov. At press time, 17 states have yet to launch tracking sites.  Many of those that are up are skeletal at best, and it is still hard to see how funds will be tracked.

If the administration is struggling to figure out how to herd the information cats around recovery.gov, one place they should not look for guidance or examples is Congress.  For years we have pushed for increased information on earmarks in the federal budget. And Congress has answered by putting more information online about those lawmakers requesting the funding and about the projects themselves. We appreciate this.  But to date this information has been provided essentially in electronic versions of paper lists. Searchable, yes, but impossible to manipulate to discover trends, and hard to track to figure out who exactly got what. TCS has worked hard to convert these lists into usable spreadsheets that the public can peruse and query to find information about how their lawmakers are spending tax dollars.

Congress should put us out of a job.

Surely if a handful of hard working people at a small non-profit can do this in a matter of days, Congress could do it in a matter of hours.

Congress should also centralize and make easy to use earmark request information.  The recent announcement that lawmakers submitting earmark requests will be required to post the requests on their individual websites at the same time they submit them, is better than nothing. But dispersing information across 535 different web sites doesn’t give taxpayers anything close to a clear big picture.  (And while they are at it, Congress should pass S. 482 requiring the Senate to file their campaign finance records electronically as opposed to the current system of paper reports.)

TCS’s long-standing goal is to make the budget transparent and accountable to the American taxpayer. And what we have found is that simply making information available, even when it is available online, is not enough. The information must be understandable and usable. Considering the massive amount of tax dollars flowing out of the treasury these days, Congress and the administration have an obligation to make budget and spending data consistent, readily available, and comprehensible to the average citizen. After all, “this is your money.”

Let us know what you think.

what is the real situation?

Most of the news would lead you to believe it is all bad; but what is the true story!

Date: 3/7/2009 14:17:19

” The truth in life are not always what we are lead to believe…” a True-ism

Here is some useful info. which I share with the following newsletter from Dave Ramsey… Read it and think it may be bad but there is always a new day with many opportunities tomorrow!

I’m tired of hearing all the gloom and doom coming from the media about the economy and unemployment—I bet you are, too! Let’s take a minute to look at the true reality of the situation and what we can do about it.

Yes, many people have lost their jobs and houses. You may be one of them. But guess what? People have lost their jobs and houses even in a bull market. About 93% of people are still employed. That is pretty good! I was alive in the 1970s when unemployment hit double digits, and we’re nowhere near that right now! I’m not making light of the fact that some people are struggling; I’m just putting the situation in the proper perspective.

Even though you may be currently unemployed, that doesn’t mean you have to participate in the recession. People like me who have chosen to not participate in the acknowledgement of the reality of a slow economy and suffering people. However, we have decided that we’re not going to form our lives around the negativity coming out of the media and government. We’re intensifying our efforts and going to have the best year of our lives in spite of things slowing down.

Some people who find themselves unemployed will go into new careers or start their own businesses where they have the best year of their lives—professionally, financially and emotionally. Their current job losses are actually blessings in disguise. They believe this and are formulating game plans based on it. I guarantee there are men in their garages right now starting their own mechanic shops. The next Mary Kay Ash is writing up a business plan for new products she’s just created. College students are developing “the next best thing” in their dorm rooms as you are reading this. This is reality!

So think about your skills and interests. How can you leverage those passions into something you enjoy doing every day while earning money for it? If you haven’t lost your job but dread going to work, maybe it’s time to fire your employer and go in a new direction. When you have a game plan for your money and career, you will have a sense of empowerment because you aren’t a slave to the lender (or employer).

When employers start hiring because they believe their businesses will grow, recessions end. Many who have stopped hiring a healthy amount have been paralyzed by fear. They’ve lost hope. People who continue going about their lives in normal ways (without being irresponsible and buying stuff they can’t afford) believe in the future. It’s called hope.

You can have fear or hope. It’s your choice.

I choose hope.

Seven action steps if you’ve lost your job (or think you might)

Dear Mr. President!

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Dear Mr. President

Some of “The People” have some concerns which you should consider!

Date: 3/7/2009 08:37:17

As the President it is your duty to try to steer a course for the country which is more than just meeting the interest of a few special interest groups… This blog is meant to help you understand some of the needs of the common people!

” In order to rule successfully; it is necessary for the whole needs of the people be understood!” a True-ism

Most people seldom come to understand the real meaning or purpose of their life… This is where it becomes important to seek the interest of those with whom your life is shared… Each of us has a position or station in life which we alone must live… You now as President must learn to make decisions which effect the entire nation as well as the world…

Some advice to you is to seek the opinion of as many factions and people so that you can make the best valid decisions… It is a true test of leadership for those in power; to recognize that it is only through the will of GOD that each of us can truly function on our pathway of life!

Your position and quest is to try to find the best possible path to follow! Please do not be limited by only those in the government which surround you in Washington! Seek the advice of the people and pray for guidance in all matters!

Best regards;

Citizen Kermit
