Woman’s health issue!

Proton beam therapy… Ladies Check it out!

Date: 10/31/2008 10:15:32

What we have here is a failure to communicate!!

“It seems that there is a big difference between helping people and making money! Usually the money wins…” a True-ism

We try to present the truth on all my blogs, which is not always popular… So be it, the truth is the popular crowd will just have to catch up! It appears to be the same in almost every element of life, medicine, science, politics, money, and personal intercourse!!

Here is a good article on women’s health:

Dear Reader,

I know four women who have received radiation treatment for breast cancer.

Unfortunately, I expect you can probably make a similar claim.

That’s why the news of a new breast cancer study is so disturbing on two counts: 1) each one of us is likely to have more friends treated with radiation for breast cancer in the future, and 2) each of these friends will likely be at higher risk of developing cancer in the opposite breast.

——————————————————————
Handle with care
——————————————————————

Radiation is lethal. In fact, Marie Curie – the scientist who discovered radium and directed the first studies in which radiation was used to treat cancer – died from radiation exposure.

In the seven decades since Curie’s death, we’ve become so accustomed to the use of radiation therapy that many people may not even be aware of the dangers linked to radiation’s routine use.

In a recent Dutch study, researchers at the Netherlands Cancer Institute examined post-treatment medical records for more than 7,200 subjects who received radiation therapy for breast cancer. Results showed that younger women with a family history of breast cancer who received radiation after a lumpectomy were three and a half times more likely to develop contralateral breast cancer – cancer in the opposite breast.

The Dutch team also report that women under the age of 45 who received radiation after a lumpectomy were 1.5 times more likely to develop contralateral breast cancer compared to women who received post-mastectomy radiation.

In the Journal of Clinical Oncology, researchers wrote: “This finding should be taken into account when advising breast radiation…to young patients with breast cancer.”

——————————————————————
Beware business as usual
——————————————————————

When a breast cancer patient undergoes lumpectomy or mastectomy, her doctor will almost always recommend radiation as a cautionary measure to kill cancer cells that may not have been caught by initial treatments.

So…what’s not quite right with this picture?

I received an e-mail about this study from HSI Panelist Allan Spreen, M.D., who had this to say about radiation and x-rays: “It’s never been argued that x-rays cause cancer in living tissue. There even was an original outcry about ‘therapeutic’ radiation doses for just that reason. Even the medical profession has never argued the issue – they just maintain that the dose is low enough that the carcinogenic effects are too low to be significant (e.g., “You get as much x-rays from the sun…” etc., blah, blah. In fact, no x-rays from the sun reach the earth’s surface).

“The party line is that the newer machines use less x-ray exposure. However, nobody will go on record as saying x-rays don’t cause cancer – it’s been known since the earliest days of roentgenology.

“As an aside, that’s why I never let any of my athletes go to a chiropractor who insists on x-rays of the spine – young female athletes already have (from birth) ALL the eggs they’re ever going to make, so every x-ray of the pelvis is re-frying the same eggs, over and over…”

——————————————————————
Tight target
——————————————————————

So if you’re a cancer patient, what should you do if your doctor recommends radiation? Ask about proton beam therapy.

In the November issue of the HSI Members Alert, Managing Editor Melissa Hickle discusses proton beam – an innovation that tightens control of radiation treatment. A recent study suggests this therapy significantly reduces risk of secondary cancers.

Subject: Aesop’s Fables: The Ant and the Grasshopper

The Ant & the Grasshopper in 2008

Two Different Versions!
Two Different Morals!

OLD VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his
house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays
the summer away. Come winter, the ant is
warm and well fed.The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out
in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Be responsible for yourself!

——– ———————————-
MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,
building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and
dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press
conference and demands to know why the ant should be
allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of
the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his
comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is
stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this
poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and
everybody cries when they sing, ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green.’

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the
ant’s house where the news stations film the group
singing, ‘We shall overcome.’ Jesse then has the
group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake.

Nancy Pelosi & John Kerry exclaim in an interview with
Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the
grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the
ant to make him pay his fair share.

Hillary and Barack go on national television agreeing that
the plight of the grasshopper is the fault of George Bush.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity &
Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number
of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his
retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

Obama gets his old law firm to represent the grasshopper in
a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried
before a panel of  federal judges that Bill Clinton
appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the
last bits of the ant’s food while the government house
he is in, which just happens to be the ant’s old house,
crumbles around him because he doesn’t maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident
and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of
spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Be very careful how you vote in 2008

Silly me??

Silly me…

Another view of a classic question…

Date: 10/28/2008 10:57:43

Here is a view you can understand as far as the real meaning of redistribution of wealth, it really depends on who you are talking about… HUH!!
Subject: Redistribution of wealth

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read ‘Vote Obama, I need the money.’ I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a ‘Obama 08′ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference–just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

REDISTRIBUTION OF SOMEONE ELSE’S WEALTH, A GREAT IDEA or is it just a way for some to feel good, by giving away other people’s wealth? Or at best is it just a fools game?

BTW: When are you getting your big fat check from the government??

And silly me; I thought we are suppose to share our own personal resources and time; not let some government agency do it for us… HUH!!

Peace and Love??

Equal and fair?

When you learn that some do not practice what they claim; peace, love and brotherhood…

Date: 10/20/2008 10:38:59

This is just a point of view…. Maybe those who are out side this group, need to treat them like they treat those who do not accept their one way view…

The following is an article about how certain people view and do not tolerate others who are outside their group or belief system… It is a sad commentary on what some humans do to each other in the name of religion(s)…

Where did the love and kindness of Islam go??

The western Christian relief agencies are there to help… They may well teach Christian beliefs; but they do not go around killing any who do not accept Christianty… Now more than ever Muslim people are moving into western countries and put their religion front and center… What happened to the so called ” Separation of Church and State ” policy with this group??

This is some more truth to start considering when you look at how history may well be changed in the near future… Some of this change and so called fairness you may not really want once you get a good look!!

British aid worker shot dead in Afghanistan for ‘preaching Christianity’

By Caroline Gammell

Last Update 12:01 BST 17 Oct. 2008

Gayle Williams, who had been in the troubled country for three years, was killed by two gunmen on a motorcycle as she walked to work in the capital of Kabul.

She recently moved from Kandahar back to Kabul because it was seen as safer. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the shooting, which took place at 08:00 local time. Afghan interior ministry spokesman Zemeri Bashary said Miss Williams had been shot in the body and leg with a pistol.

“Two armed men sitting on a motorbike shot her dead,” he said.

“Some bullets hit her body and some hit her leg and when police got there she was dead.”
Her body was taken to a nearby hospital.

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that a British national was shot dead in Kabul. Next of kin have been informed.”

Mr Bashary said it was not known who was responsible, but Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, insisted his militia had carried out the killing.

“We killed her because she was working for an organization which was preaching Christianity,” he said.

Serve Afghanistan is a UK registered charity which focuses on education and training for people with disabilities.

All its overseas staff are volunteers. The mission statement on its website says its purpose “is to express God’s love and bring hope by serving the people of Afghanistan, especially the needy, as they seek to address personal, social and environmental needs.”

Taliban insurgents have increasingly targeted aid workers this year in their campaign to spread an atmosphere of fear and undermine support for the Western-backed Afghan government.

Taliban insurgents killed three female aid workers and their Afghan driver in an ambush just outside Kabul in August, the bloodiest single attack on foreign humanitarian workers in Afghanistan in recent years.

Rising violence has already forced aid agencies to restrict humanitarian work at a time when drought and high prices are putting more people under pressure.

Why do some people like lies??

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Why do people like lies…

Many people believe everything they hear in the mass media,or follow some party policy; which may not be best for them…

Date:   10/18/2008 21:24:47

Here in the USA, just before the up coming national election, it seems that many  of the citizens are getting dazzled by misrepresentations…  Lets look at some:

 Some of the candidates are making promises which they can not keep! Now we have all heard about the used car salesman who will tell you anything just to get the sale.  This is exactly what many of the politicians are doing, telling you anything just to get the vote…   But once they get in office they do not have to do anything they promised you…  Some people, like myself, think they may be lying to the people…  {A lie is telling someone something the person knows is false.}

Things like the economy, who gets hired or fired, how insurance companies will pay or not pay for claims, who will pay their loans, and or what exactly will happen in the future; is beyond even the power of the President of the US…  DUH!!

But apparently some people do not understand this basic principle…

What we should be looking for in a candidate is Character…  A person who is interested in helping the people…  This is done by example, and by belief the life is valuable…  If we can not help the helpless, then we are not using our GOD given talents…

“Helping others; means personally putting yourself into the Frey, not leaning on or waiting for others to do it…  It means being a person who puts yourself first in helping others, not letting the government or any other organization do it for you.”  a True-ism.

This is what GOD expects from each of us; to cloth the naked, feed the hungry, comfort the sick, visit those in prison…  Personally!!

You may want to review you life and your views on life, then apply these to the people who are running for elected office… This and prayer, should help you make the decisions which should direct your life…

Get busy, get involved, get to helping others, get your priority in order, so you can become the person GOD wants you to be!!

Faire la nouba

You need to learn to always look forward!   Not backward…     God is not in the rear view mirror!

What is past is done and no matter how much you would like to change it; it is not going to happen!!   So  just get over it  by letting go of all the baggage you brought with you…  This includes but not limited to your relationships,  with  family, friends  or other aquanitices…   It does not build any future happiness or security now…

“Learn to forgive and in time forget all the trash in your past; if you expect a better future!”  a True-ism

You life is based on what you believe…  As we travel down the pathway of life , there will be times that we seem to narrowly miss disasters and even death!  This where our Resolve and Spiritual protection come into play…  This is where you will come to see the spirit side of your life…

You have seen that there is opposition in all things here and up to this time even in the Heavens above!

With all this opposition you should come to recognize that there are two sides to almost every argument or plan on this earthly journey…  Opposition sometimes is just the difference or balance of things in a situation…   Much like water, wind and the soil of earth…   In realms it is a total destruction or counter force seeking to not only oppose the opposite side but totally dominate or rule over the otherside…  As in good vs evil..

Then in some of the opposition of forces they can never exist together or in the same time frame…  Rather only as opposites or contrast to each other…  i.e.  cold – hot, up – down, in – out, light – dark, etc…

Therefore based upon which of circumstances people are in; they will react to the situation,  according to their beliefs…  People only live what they believe!

Blowing in the wind…

The answer is blowing in the wind…

What we seek is not in the hands of government!!

Date:   10/8/2008 19:32:28

Yes my friend the answer is blowing in the wind… Listen and you will know…

It appears the our elected Representatives are all just looking toward spending more of your money; unless you do not pay tax…  The rest of us tax paying citizens have just about had enough, of this let them (US Taxpayers) pay up…When you hear the government say the government is going to put up the funds, where do you think it comes from??   It is all national Debt; and we the taxpayers have to come up with the money…  It looks like it will pass on down to our grand children and maybe beyond…

” Remember the only money the Government { Ruler, King, Supreme Group } has is what it takes from the people…”   HUH!!   Maybe you did not know that; well I am here as the Truth Barometer; to say that is the way it is!

You do not have to believe just look at the facts, and read the fine article below:

” Don’t watch the man behind the curtain! “  This is what our politicians and advisor’s want you to not do…  Do not pay any attention to how this  so called “Bail Out’ is coming about…

Dear FairTax supporters,

Here are four things you can do to save the nation now:

1. Make a contribution the FairTax cause
2. Tell at least two friends about the FairTax now
3. Post a FairTax widget or banner
4. Check out our 2008 Election Guide

At the heart of the financial meltdown now bedeviling Americans is a simple and profoundly ignored fact that does not require an advanced degree in economics to understand: Our government spends more than it takes in—a lot more.

Sure, regulators could have done a better job but, in truth, politicians at every level have frustrated attempts to blow the whistle on bad loans, bad reporting and bad ethics. Why? Because politicians have been buying our votes with our money—and our future earnings—for a long time. And they don’t want any interference from those they are “helping.”

It’s not just the naked bribes represented by “earmarks” for hometown voters; it is new entitlement programs like the prescriiption drug benefit, new rules governing the behavior of favored banks and investment houses and a headlong rush to buy the votes of the poor by guaranteeing home ownership, irrespective of one’s financial ability to repay a loan. Lest we forget, let’s also add up all the special tax breaks for favored contributors that have bloated income tax code rules to 67,500 pages. It’s a bi-partisan betrayal of our future cloaked as concern for the common good.

Although our nation was founded on the principle that the citizen was sovereign, government spending increases and more and more taxes taken from our earnings, savings and investments have effectively transformed the American citizen into a serf working another’s land for the privilege of taking a fraction of the fruits of his or her own labor.

Just Trust Us

“Trust us,” we are told. “We have the best interests of the nation at heart.” Citizens are now left with no rational choice to protect savings, college plans, and investments but to accept the new aristocracies’ trillion dollar picking of our pockets to prop up institutions that must function. It is not the first time in recent years that we have accepted the grasping hand of the federal government in our wallets to avert a disaster not of our making.

In 1983 a “Blue Ribbon” panel of similar leaders including Alan Greenspan, Daniel Patrick Moynihan and others “saved” Social Security from another big collapse by dramatically raising taxes on earnings of up to $97,500 annually. The promise, then, was that Baby Boomers would actually “pre-fund” their own retirement with astoundingly increased taxes, decades ahead of time. It was also promised as relief to the coming generations so they would be free of crippling taxes. Sounded good.

Lo and behold, the trillions of dollars taken in since then—far exceeding promised payments to senior citizens—have since been spent on everything else. Turns out, that it was nothing more than a new tax levied on those with earnings below $97,500 a year so executive and legislative branch office holders could have more of our money to spend extravagantly on “us” so they could win new terms in office. The FICA payroll tax has become a major factor in keeping the poor that way, retarding new business growth and keeping middle-class earners from moving up. Worst, it also turns out that our children and grandchildren will, in fact, still be burdened an ever-growing and mind-numbing national debt AND unbelievably high FICA taxes to support their parents.

In yet another example of playing fast and loose with politics and our money, 1986 saw Congress reject the tax policies of the Reagan administration and as consequence, the Savings and Loan industry collapsed. Turns out the definition of the tax value of real estate holdings had been changed overnight by the House Ways and Means Committee and banks no longer met liquidity rules. That politically inspired cat fight cost American taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. And worse, we didn’t learn.

It is past time–way past time–for hometown America to save America from our well-intentioned but criminally incompetent, at best, and cynically corrupted , at worst, national leadership. Do we have a moment to lose? Do we really need any more examples of how the new aristocracy can—and will—destroy the pursuit of happiness?

The reform that can save the nation and restore our identity as citizens who have empowered and limited government (instead of the other way around) is called the FairTax.

Because the FairTax allows every American to take home everything that is earned without any federal withholding, millions of distressed homeowners could actually afford home mortgage payments. The elimination of FICA taxes eliminates the highly regressive Social Security and Medicate tax but the FairTax provides a far broader stream of revenue into these faltering programs. Because the FairTax eliminates all exemptions, gimmicks and loopholes, Congress would be removed from the ability to buy votes with tax giveaways and billionaires pay taxes when they spend money. Because the FairTax makes nearly all federal government taxes entirely transparent, the sovereign citizen can know the score and put the brakes on extravagant new spending. Because the FairTax eliminates the price advantage now enjoyed by overseas producers, American jobs won’t be leaving our shores. In fact, because the FairTax makes the USA the most favorable tax environment in the world, we can expect trillions of dollars of investment rushing into the US economy. With the FairTax, our money is ours first and only secondly devoted to government. Savings growth, investments and business decisions are guided by opportunity and real progress instead of tax avoidance tactics.

We’ve lost more than $2 trillion of our retirement savings in a week’s time and our kid’s future at college is in serious jeopardy. This didn’t happen by accident but at the hands of the very same people who have given the FairTax a cold shoulder. Those candidates and incumbents of either party who would spend our future earnings to stay in office and who reject the FairTax for similarly self-interested reasons now need a strong reminder from voters about whose offices they occupy. Please pay attention to our voting guide and send that message.

Finally, our campaign needs your help—as always. We never have enough to do the job right. Send us a contribution if you can, even in these hard times. It may turn out to be the best investment you ever made. If you can’t afford a donation, then help us by recruiting two new supporters. And keep your cards, letters, phone calls, faxes and e-mails going to incumbents and candidates.

The plain fact is, we either now save ourselves from our new aristocracy or suffer the consequences as modern day serfs in a nation never contemplated by our Founding Fathers.

Sincerely,

Science & Religion

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

The compatibility of both Science { which is the method of study for an item or thing}  and  Religion { which is the method or system or form of seeking and practicing a belief.}  Both are methods of learning or loking into the unknown!

Are these two elements of human endeavor really adversaries?   Oh, I think not…   If one is to use an open mind and true conscience; they would find that these two studies or systems actually follow the same course of reason seeking answers to the basic human desire to understand their environment both past and present.

While some would have you believe that they are diametrically opposed to each other; if so it is only in some gray areas…  They would also purpose to say that the two views or studies are a dichotomy…  Which is not true…

It seem that many people want to control the conversation or dominate the knowledge base so they look “Good.”   But looking “Good’ is not necessarily the road to the Truth.   If you really want the truth you should release your personal feelings and limited human desires; to embrace to ultimate “Truth.”

“Truth is where you find it; not where you want it to be!”   a True-ism  Oct .08

Why do we spend so much time attempting to rearrange the truth when most often it is right before us if we bother to just look.   The TRUTH IS!  All else is false or just conjecture…

I wish sometimes I had a dollar for every time someone attempted to rearrange the facts to fit the truth!  I would most likely be a wealthy man…

Both religion and science attempt to find the truth; if they are used as an intended study or system.  Now not all answers are found in either of these two of mankind’s attempts to find truth in this earthly life!

There is one important element missing in most of man’s searches; which is the beginner or originator of all we know in this earthly life…  With out a valid beginning it is impossible to explain the development of life on planet earth…  All earthly things have a beginning…

Here is where many would derail or cause confusion in the compatibility of both Religion and Science!   Both a systems to seek answers to many of life’s questions…  In fact both use the same principles and mythology to find answers…

So why the rash and crass attempt to present the two methods of study as a dichotomy?

Only self serving desires can answer that…  These are either  People or Spirits who’s sole desire is to control others is the answer…   Why else do they attempt to take away your free will and agency to decide for yourself?  It is only for personal gain and glory!  Neither of which will extend into the Eternity to come!

 Think about it friend…
