Computer voting?

Interesting thoughts in an election year!!

Computer voting?
Life should be based on the freedom of choice, not the present system of control…Date: 7/22/2008 11:13:07 AM ( 12 sec æ ) … viewed 0 times

Computer voting?
« on: Today at 04:35 »

While the computer has revolutionized and helped to improve many things in everyday life; voting is not one of them… Yes computers put a man on the moon… They aid in managing large data bases… Computers make many machines perform more efficiently… The use of computers in control of many complicated operations, is almost a necessity… Computers allow many almost instant analysis of data and procedures, which save time… But in some areas they are not ready to take over the process…
The use of electronic voting is in question… Many people think that just because you goto a terminal and enter data; that it is always processed the way they want… Wrong!! First data has to go through many systems, and at most any of these the data can and may be altered… What? Computer scientists have pointed out to the US Congress; that electronic voting machines can”t be audited because there’s is no record of the actual voter’s intension’s. There’s not any way of checking the actual electronic count against the actual voter’s intentions… HUH!

The society is becoming more and more worried about what people are doing… We now have more cameras in most of the larger stores, in larger cities, at certain traffic signals and even schools and work places… Why? Well many people want to know what someone is going to do… Which is rather a stupid way to look at something, because we could all sit down and come up with a list of such happenings… Many things are well understood and thus do not show any new ideas; just more of what we already know…
Example; small children will push and pull fighting over things(toys), young girls will spend time prepping and making them selves look good, young males will enter contest against other males to prove themselves, and we could on through the society…
These are just some of the ways to look at the use of computers and other electronics in the society… So does the use of electronics and computers answer or create more problems? The answer is not simple, and while in some cases they help or improve life, in others they cause false expectations or create more confusion and uncertainty…

BTW: All the camera, and recorders only display or shows after something has happened; never before it occurs!! It does not prevent any action from occuring!

In many cases the real question is; since there must be watchers or over seers of this data maze, who is watching the watchers? Super watchers, police, politicians, or just some government worker?

“It is in the manipulation and presentation of the data collected that in the end effects and controls the people…” a True-ism 2008

This is indeed a complicated and dangerous game we play with the lives of people; through the use of computers and electronics… It all comes down to control and manipulation… This has been the central course of history since time began… Who will control whom!

God gave everyone freedom of choice and some men want to take control of others…

Back of business card…
« on: Today at 11:08:14 »
A few weeks ago, after one of my sons returned from helping some of the Tornado Victims down Macon, GA; he corresponded with some of the workers… These people had came from all over the country, some from Wisconsin, California, Florida and many other places at their own expense…

This type of service builds a special camaraderie It during these times when people share and live in close quarters for some period of time that they come to form this bond… This is what happens with people in families, churches, schools, at work projects and in military units… These are bonds that will last into eternity!!

Well one of these persons sent my son a note which included a business card with a special prayer on back… This is something which we all should share:

I ask for strength that I might achieve; I was made weak that i might learn humbly to obey.

I ask for health that I might do great things; I was given an infirmity that I might do better things.

I ask for riches that I might be happy; I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I ask for power so that I might have the praise of men; I was given weakness that I might feel the need for GOD.

I ask for things that I might enjoy life; I was given life that I might enjoy things.

I received nothing I had ask for; But everything that I had hoped for.

Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered; I am among all men, most richly blessed!

- Prayer of an Unknown Confederate Soldier 1865

This is also a True-ism July 2008

Dixie 1930′s

Life in Dixie some time back… « on: Today at 05:40:14 AM »
My mother grew up in South Georgia, USA back in the 1920 & 30′s… She said that one of her jobs was to get up at 05:00 and start the fire… They used fireplaces to heat the house in the winter months… I remember the fireplaces, where you had to stand in front and turn to stay warm; from visits to my Grandparents house later, as they still lived in that house until about 1955…
My mother said they of course walked to school, and she remembers bringing biscuits with syrup for lunch time… For many people in the world today this is still the the way of life… Attached is some info from a copy of an article on a Georgia school in the 1920′s & 30′s a good read…

Historian Horace Holland writes: ” The students brought their country ham, fried chicken or squirrel or turtle, baked possum and sweet taters… In store-bought dinner buckets or small lard buckets…. The diner bell would ring at Noon and the students would carry their dinner buckets outside and eat under the trees… There was no electricity at the school until 1940 and the water was drawn from the well by hand…. “

Hard Life? Yes by todays standards… Just maybe some people think they have it hard; how about no running water, no refrigeration, very little food storage or food for that matter, fuel is wood, charcoal, or dried animal dung… Oh yea, no TV either, nor a garage since they do not own a motor vehicle, plus it is over 200 miles to the nearest medical help!! And you think you have got it bad??

” One of the worse things for most people is to not realize the limits of their environment nor ever learn to make the best of it!!” a True-ism July 2008
