Simply Truth is where it all starts, everything else is just some faulsehoods… So remember to go for the truth, as it will serve you well and get you on the right track…. You can believe a lie and be damned… Therefore seek the truth, you will be better able to control the destiny of your life…
We all think of the new year as a new start….. Well sort of, kind of and maybe….
It all depends upon the course we have plotted for ourselves…. If we are truly interested in making the necessary changes; to really make our life more meaningful, then it is a good thing….
Other wise it does not actually matter much, one way or the other… This is sad to say, but the truth is real life difficult… It proves to be as serious as cancer or a heart attack!!! The truth is; wither you like it or not…. Most people try not… But that is a one way ticket to no where… If it is not the truth, then it is a lie, or a falsehood at best…
My view would be for us (you) to start evaluating your life and plan to correct or make right the areas that need attention… Only you really know what those are… So it is up to you to stop, look and listen to what needs to be changed in your life… This is a personal quest, one that you must take… You can seek help, and assistance, but the blunt point is that you must make the effort… So get busy, nothing happens unless someone does something….
Lets each evaluate our life and plan our next move(s)…. This will require some thought… And determination!! DUH!!

Once we start life; it becomes apparent that we must understand what it is we are want to accomplish….. Life is that way, and must be played as such… So look at your plans and or desires…. Most of which may not be accomplished in this life time… But you must start somewhere!! DUH!!
Next the trick is to “read the room” or see exactly what is happening, in life around you…. There are always some things going on, with or without you… To this you must become accustomed and learn to play the proper roles… Everyone has a role to play some are better at it than others…. So get your brain in order and see where you fit in… Most everyone fits in somewhere…
Sometimes we must learn to just be an observer, and watch which way the play is going… This can save us much pain and sorrow… There is always a way to become better at living your life… Life is the only thing on your plate right now… DUH!! So learn to be the best at it as you can…
There is actually two parts to life…. Freedom of choice, and control or domination by others… Your GOD given Free will, allows you to be your own planner, developer, or supporter…. These are the areas which you need to become the best person that you can!
But on the other side and there is always another side… Is the control element, the ones who want to make you fit their mold(s)…. This has always been the story since Adam & Eve…. So your main contest after developing your mind and setting your core ideas, is to be aware of the controllers in this life…. Most seem to come around sounding like they are your best friend(s)… While actually they only have plans to take your liberty, or money, or self esteem… This is a curious thing, since on the surface it seems like they are out to help you…. Yet in their heart they want to control you and dominate you, to their satisfaction, or purpose… This is the prime danger in life….
Yes, Virginia; there really is a devil… A spoiler, one who would have you think you are in paridise…. But who has your total destruction in mind and in his heart of heart of hearts… This is not some sort of scare tactic, this is the absolute truth… There really is good and evil…
There are some tests that we all should use to see where someone stands in either being honest and truly helpful or deceitful and controlling… We will go over some of those here:
1) Determine just what is in this relationship or friendship for the other person…. BTW Free Sexual Intercourse is not a good reason to be involved with someone…
2) Look at a person’s background, and see where they are coming from…. If they are totally self centered; which many people are, then you may want to steer clear!!
3) See what type friends or relatives they have this will clue you into what type person they are… The number of friends is not that important as is the quality of those people…
4) Take mental notes, when you communicate, to see if they have loose moral, or will try anything… Epically for a thrill… This should be a loud warning sign…
5) Discuss what sort of plans and / or actives they are into… Drinking, Dope, Gambling, Loose Morals, stealing. disregard for anyone or anything would be good clues they are ripe for a fall… We are talking about Jail time, or some type of isolation from society… BTW we are not talking about a vacation or short trip here… DUH!!
These are a few of many trait’s that you may want to check in meeting new so called friends…. Another little, tip is to seek some help from them, and watch how they react… Either supportive or resentful… Huh!!
Of course if you are comfortable with most of the above type people, then remember; birds of a feather flock together, and end up in the same pot… DUH!!
People who seek to pull something over on others always seem to end up on the short end of the stick, if you get the drift… Why we can’t just get along is beyond me… Don’t aggravate others since there is enough trouble in the world all ready…. Duh!!
Another, year and another chapter in my life; changed this past week….
Chuck, of my younger brothers came up with his youngest son, Mitch, to visit and make a change for all of us….. Life goes on as things change, it has often been said that
” The only thing in life; that does not change is GOD, and change itself….”
It went something like this…. I had a 1959 Studebaker Pickup Truck, since 1975… I was an original “Hot Rodder”…. Going to High School in the late ’50s… I used to go to Drag races, where “Big Daddy” Don Garlits ran his Swamp Rat roadsters, in FLA…. He ran in Oldsmar which was just 26 miles north of my home…
I was a poor white boy, and when my step father allowed me to get a car in 1958, He said ” You get it, you pay for it, and when it brakes down you fix it…. don’t bother me…” So I became a car buff… A prince of power, with a part time after school job @ 50 cents an hour….. So you can see that I was well to do …. And cute too…
I finally got a ’49 Cadillac two door sedan, in 1959, and I was really stepping in high cotton.. BTW; that was I thought I had it made, in the shade…. Well It took some fixing up, but it was worth it at least in my feeble teen age mind…. It had an OHV V8, and a 120 MPH speedometer…. I had to repaint it { It was black} in the dark after work, replace the transmission, with the help of one of my uncles and next younger brother in Jax, then repaired various other parts as needed or required… BTW; I still have the original combination wrench set I purchased at NAPA in Pinellas Park, FL.1958 … Then I got bolder and obtained an aluminum Four Barrel Intake manifold, which was installed on the engine….
This really got me into some respect with the motor heads at SPHS, and I thought I was the best thing since sliced bread… On the social scale, I was slow or did not realize that I was cute, so except for MYF @ Christ Methodist Church; where we held actives, and games with other HS kids, and even gave some really nice girls rides home, ect…. I just never got beyond an occasional kiss… So my world was cars, not really any dates or such….. BTW; If I had it to do over again, things would have been different…. Guess you would say I was shy, and not out going….
Well I wanted to set the stage so you could appreciate the big picture…. I did get married six years after HS, to a wonderful gal who knew I was intelligent and cute too and we raised four sons, all of whom are married and have children of their own…
I had other times and experiences with fast cars, and so we jump back up to date…. My nephew Mitch, graduated last year and now plays football at a college out in Iowa…. His dad one of my brothers, used to have a body shop, and is well versed in auto restore and such…. So since I, do not really have the desire or time to restore the Studebaker truck, I gave it to Mitch, for a graduation present…. They came up with a trailer and hauled the truck back to FLA…. Another chapter closed!!
